Robbins, will be part of a delegation of students attending the 2009 Presidential Youth Leadership Conference, sponsored by LeadAmerica. The conference is held in Washington, DC during the Presidential Inauguration.
The Presidential Youth Leadership Conference will be held during the week of the Presidential Inauguration, and the 400 Presidential Scholars will attend briefings with military and intelligence officers as well as government and agency officials to learn how each is affected by the new Administration.
They will meet with a senior political strategist, receive an inside analysis of the 2008 election and participate in a Presidential Simulation that includes assembling a transition team, selecting the Cabinet and determining key policy initiatives.
Robbins and other Presidential Scholars will witness the Presidential Oath of Office and attend the Inaugural Parade. They will also attend a Youth Inaugural Ball to celebrate the historic event.

While Robbins was getting ready to sign up for this spring conference, he received an invitation to attend the Presidential Youth Leadership Conference. Robbins made the decision to attend the Presidential Conference and if funding holds out, he would also like to attend the Spring Congressional Conference as well.

At this time Robbins plans on majoring in Mechanical Engineering. With the economy in its current state, Robbins is taking a good long look at what each college has to offer.
In order to attend, Robbins will be doing some fundraising in addition to his many jobs. During the summer months, Robbins helps his grandfather Lewis Hatt bale hay. Robbins will be sending out letters and asking for donations. Robbins will be using his pet sitting, house sitting and babysitting money to help pay for the trip.
A long time family friend Debbie Harrison who is co-owner at Canine Sports Recreation Center 7275 Joy Road Dexter will hold a "Try Dog Agility" night on Monday December 22 from 6:30-8:30pm. A portion of the proceeds will support Robbins's conference fees.
