PUBLISHED: December 4, 2008
Chelsea Area Players Youth Theater has been performing quite a few interesting shows in recent years, ranging from the holiday spooks of Washington Irving's "Sleepy Hollow," to the classic realm of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Nights Dream."

Their next production draws heavily on the influence of the music of the Beatles. With a cast of 40 area young actors, they have been working on a show called "A Boy. A Girl. The Beatles."
And the story is exactly as the title conveys. It's a love story of sorts based around a boy named Robert and girl named Michelle who meet in their last year of high school and have to find a way to hold onto their newfound love as they continue on and grow in life. Yes, there are some difficulties along the way that separate them, but in the end, love prevails as the cast sings "All You Need Is Love."
Told entirely through the music of the Beatles, not a single word of dialogue is spoken.
The show will be performed at Beach Middle School, 445 Mayer Drive in Chelsea, on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:30; Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday evening show will feature a special ending tribute to John Lennon, who's memorial of his death on Dec. 8, 1980, will be performed by an audience participation of the song "Imagine."
"A Boy. A Girl. The Beatles." will feature moments of joy and tears as the story unfolds.
It's a family oriented show for all ages, young and old, who enjoy the early years of rock n' roll. Tickets are $5 and available at Cranesbill Books, the Gourmet Chocolate CafÈ, Chelsea Pharmacy, online at the CAP Web site aboyagirlthebeatles.org, by calling 800-838-3006 and at the door.
