Faith in Action will have a career advisor available every Tuesday from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at 603 S. Main St. in Chelsea, to help with resume writing, job searching, career research and talent evaluation. This service is open to anyone who could use help with employment issues. A Michigan Works! Wednesday

Country Market Pharmacy is sponsoring a flu clinic from 9 a.m. to noon at Chelsea Polly's Country Market, 1255 S. Main St. Everyone over the age of 9 can get vaccinated. The cost is $25. They will bill Medicare only for those with a Medicare card. All other recipients will be given a receipt to submit to their health insurance companies.

Thursday, Oct. 16

Lima Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing 6 p.m. at the Lima Township Hall, 11452 Jackson Road.

Saturday, Oct. 18

St. Mary Fall Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 14200 E. Old US-12 in Chelsea. Activities to include arts and crafts, raffle, bake sale, face painting, cookie walk, petting farm and a bounce house. Lunch will also be available. Door prizes every half hour. Admission is free. Parks

Hudson Mills Metropark

The park is located at 8801 N. Territorial Road in Dexter. The Metropark requires an entry fee of $4 per vehicle per day. You may also buy an annual sticker for $20 or a senior annual for $12. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. For more information, call 1-800-477-3191.

Saturday. Fall Color Paddle from noon - 4 p.m. $35/boat and program. Hudson Mills Metropark to Dexter Huron Metropark is a beautiful stretch of river and one of southern Michigan's jewels. We'll stop at the Dexter Cider Mill for cider and doughnuts. Meet at the Dexter Huron Metropark public boat launch for you, your boat and a naturalist guide to be transported upstream to Hudson Mills Metropark.

Sunday. Brownies Animal Try-It. Discover the world of animals! The girls will categorize animals they explore their characteristics by playing a game. Then we will go a on a hike and discuss what to do if you see a baby animal and what the differences are between pets and wild animals. Reservations must be made through the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Council at 734-971-8800.

Waterloo Recreation Area

The Waterloo Recreation Area, Eddy Discovery Center is located at 17030 Bush Road, Chelsea. A motor vehicle permit is required for entry, $6 for the day or $24 for an annual. The programs are free. To register for programs, call (734) 475-3170.

Saturday. Forest Discovery Hike. 2 p.m. Take a walk into the colorful autumn forest while discovering the phenomena behind the enchanting beauty.

Sunday. Michigan Botanical Club. 2 p.m. The Michigan Botanical Club will be presenting a program complete with field study.

Oct. 19, 2 p.m. Michigan Animals Close up. The Howell Nature Center will show us live mammals and birds of prey for this family program. Learn about the characteristics and survival skills of these animals in the wild.

37th Annual Craft-O-Rama Arts and Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jackson County Fairgrounds, 200 W. Ganson St., in Jackson. General admission is $2 per person with children five and under free. The event will feature up to 80 exhibitors.
