The Chelsea High School Class of 2008 will walk down the aisle and out into the world beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday in the CHS Gymnasium.
The public is invited to the graduation ceremony and doors open at 2 p.m. There will be general seating in the bleachers; no tickets are needed.
The event will feature student speakers Michael Sullivan and Robin Olinyk, with musical performances by Katie Falk and Jillian Heinrichs.
Waterloo Farm event
The Waterloo Area Historical Society will host its third annual Native Heritage experience on, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The event is an authentic re-creation of a Woodland Indian Village and French Fur Trading Post on the grounds of the Waterloo Farm Museum.
Complete with traditional Native crafts, cooking, and games, the event will also feature lamplight tours of the village on Saturday night.
Admission to the Waterloo Farm Museum grounds for this special event is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors 62 and up, and $2 for children aged 5-17. Children under 5 and members of the Waterloo Historical Society are free. Admission includes a guided tour of the 10-room farmhouse.

Byrnes coffee hour Monday
State Rep. Pam Byrnes, D-District 52, will host her next coffee hour with constituents on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the McKune Memorial Library, 221 S. Main St., Chelsea.
The purpose of the coffee hour is for Rep. Byrnes to meet and talk with her constituents about the issues they feel are important to them. It is an informal, free event open to the public.

Water quality presentation
The Michigan Groundwater Stewardship Program will host a presentation on water quality at 6 p.m. June 12 at the Michigan State University Extension office, 1040 S. Winter St. Adrian.
Dr. Sheridan K. Haack of the U.S. Geological Survey will lead a presentation about emerging chemicals, pesticides and microbial contaminants in water.
These chemicals include a wide variety of prescription and non-prescription pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and chemicals with broad household uses, such as fragrance constituents, or fire retardants. These contaminants often come from sources that may also contain microbial pathogens.
This presentation will review the typical sources and environmental pathways for emerging contaminants, and will discuss national studies and studies in several Michigan watersheds.
The public is encouraged to attend. Reservations may be made by calling the Lenawee Conservation District at 517-263-7400.
Class of 1958 reunion
The Chelsea High School Class of 1958 is planning its 50-year reunion for the weekend of Sept. 19 to 21.
This was the last class to graduate from the high school on Harrison Street that was later demolished.

MSP teen driving class
The Michigan State Police Precision Driving Unit is offering parents a chance to enroll their teens in a defensive driving class.
Teens will learn hands-on skid control, evasive maneuvering, controlled breaking and emergency off-road recovery.
The class lasts eight hours and is limited to 15 students per session. There are four sessions scheduled, June 18 and 19 and Aug. 6 and 7, and will take place at the Michigan State Police Training Academy in Lansing.
To participate, teens must have a Level 2 Intermediate License. The program costs $100; to register, call 517-322-5174.
Charity golf scramble
The "Barefoot Wine" Charity Golf Scramble is scheduled for June 28 at Reddeman Farms Golf Club, 555 S. Dancer Road, Chelsea.
Cost is $95 per person or $380 for a four-person team. Tee box signs are $75, and corporate sponsors are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the local Autism USA chapter.
Registration begins at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
Contests for women and men include putting, longest drive, and closest to pin.
After golf, a barbecue chicken or roast beef dinner will be served with a cash bar.

Class of '88 reunion
Remember the days of big hair and school dances and visit with classmates at the Chelsea High School Class of 1988 20-year class reunion.
Organizers are in the process of collecting names and e-mail addresses to put together a list.
The reunion will be held Aug. 30 at Reddeman Farms, 555 S. Dancer Road in Lima Township from 7 p.m. to midnight. We will have hors d'oeuvres, a DJ and lots of visiting and catching up.
To be "found," log onto "Yahoo Groups," search for chelsea88 and join the group. Coming soon will be a Class Reunion Web site, www.chelsea88.info (Check out the home page).
Lunch at the Senior Center
The Chelsea Senior Center serves a hot lunch on weekdays at the "Taste of Home CafÈ," in the cafeteria at the Washington Street Education Center.
The menu consists of an entrÈe, salad bar, beverage and dessert.
Cost is $5, or only $2.50 for people 60 and up, and open to everyone in the community.
The lunch is prepared by Chelsea School District food service staff and served in an inviting, friendly atmosphere.
To ensure adequate quantities, call the Senior Center 24 hours in advance at 475-9242.
