Library hosts discussion

The "global economy" gives business the ability to market products and services all over the globe. It has also allows us to develop partnerships and alliances throughout the world, which has become essential for success in today's business.
As part of the ongoing celebration of Earth Day, the Mission Marketplace and McKune Memorial Library invite you to a discussion of Global Economics and the Distribution of Wealth, at 2 p.m. Sunday at the library.
A wide range of issues will be discussed, including economics, the global poor, human rights and the role of the consumer. Participants will include faculty experts in economics from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University.
High school open house
The community is invited to an open house for retiring Chelsea High School Principal Ron Mead. This casual event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. May 28 in the high school commons area.
Bring good stories and best wishes to celebrate Mead's 19 years in education here in Chelsea.
Year-end school concerts
Fifth- and sixth-graders at South Meadows Elementary will perform end-of-year concerts at the Chelsea High School auditorium.
The choir will perform on June 2, the band on June 3 and the orchestra on June 5. All performances will take place at 7 p.m.
The Beach Middle School band and orchestra spring concert will take place this Sunday, and the choir also will perform on June 2.
Charity golf scramble
The "Barefoot Wine" Charity Golf Scramble is scheduled for June 28 at Reddeman Farms Golf Club, 555 S. Dancer Road, Chelsea.
Cost is $95 per person or $380 for a four-person team. Tee box signs are $75, and corporate sponsors are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the local Autism USA chapter. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Class of '88 reunion
Organizers are in the process of collecting names to put together a list. The reunion will be held Aug. 30 at Reddeman Farms, 555 S. Dancer Road in Lima Township from 7 p.m. to midnight. To be "found," log onto "Yahoo Groups," search for chelsea88 and join the group. Coming soon will be a Class Reunion Web site, www.chelsea88.info.
