The Bulldogs ended up with a score of 185.

Winning the match was Division II No. 2-ranked Dexter with a 175. Tecumseh was third with a 196, while the host Railsplitters were fourth with a 228.

"This was another good team score for our ladies," said Chelsea coach Andrea Bareis. "I still know that we are capable of shooting lower, but this is still a great showing. We're only 10 strokes behind Dexter who is one of the best teams in the state right now, so that's encouraging.

"And we scored this well without our No. 3 golfer Stephanie Everard today. It's great when we can fill the gaps as needed."

Individually for Chelsea, Emily Hardcastle led the Bulldogs shooting a 41.

Krystin Schwarze ended up with a 45, while Hannah Harwood had a 48, Emma Chervinsky a 51 and Chrissy Burman and Sarah Shrosbree each had a 55 for the Bulldogs.

On May 1, Chelsea placed 11th at the 20-team Ann Arbor Pioneer Invitational at the University of Michigan Golf Course.

The Bulldogs recorded a team score of 387.

Capturing the tournament title was Grand Blanc with a score of 347. Traverse City West and Brighton tied for second each with a 356.

Hardcastle led Chelsea placing sixth overall with a score of 82.

"Emily's 82 is just an outstanding round of golf especially at U-M," Bareis said. "The match medalist shot a 77."

Schwarze finished 24th with a 92.

"Krystin played a fabulous round of golf today," Bareis said. "She was consistent, confident and she came through with a great score. To shoot a 92 at U-M as a sophomore is just outstanding. It will be exciting to see how see does in the next few years."

Everard had a 101, Chervinsky a 112 and Shrosbree a 115 for the Bulldogs.

"This was a very good showing for us today at such a difficult course," Bareis said. "We had a lot to prove to ourselves after having a very poor team performance here last year."

On April 30, Chelsea defeated Saline 184-201 in a dual match at Reddeman Farms Golf Course.

"This was a nice win at home for us," Bareis said. "We had just lost to Saline by a few strokes at the Bedford Invitational this past Friday, so this was a nice way to bounce back from that loss."

Hardcastle and Schwarze both finished as first-place medalist each shooting a 44.

Everard added a 47, while Chervinsky had a 49.

"I was impressed by the way Krystin, Stephanie and Emma played today, especially when Emily didn't score as well as she normally does. I've been telling the girls all season that we need four scores in the 40s to be competitive and we finally got there today. It seems we usually have only three, so to have four there today was great."

Sarah Hoffman and Bethany French led Saline each with a 46.

Chelsea next travels to Ann Arbor Huron to participate in its invitational Monday at 3:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Bulldogs host Temperance Bedford at 3 p.m. at Reddeman Farms.

On May 17, Chelsea will compete in the Division II state regional match at Marshall.

JV Golf

On May 2, the Bulldogs' JV girls' golf team finished first at the Ypsilanti Lincoln quad at Pine View Golf Course.

Kelsey Penar led Chelsea individually with a 43. Katie Steklac added a 44 for the Bulldogs.

On April 30, the Bulldogs lost to Saline 260-246.

Shrosbree paced Chelsea with a 53.
