Albert and Madonna Ruhlig of Dexter celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 20, 2008 at a family dinner at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea. Siblings and families, and members of the wedding party attended from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.

The couple were married April 17, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe. Their children and spouses are Mark and Marcia, John, and David and Lori. Grandchildren are David, Clare, Kasie, Aaron, Betsy, Brian and Scott Ruhlig.
They are members of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea and have lived at the Colby road address in Dexter since their marriage. Mr. Ruhlig was engaged in farming and still enjoys participating and gardening. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific in WWII. Both have been active in church and community.
