Six grapplers advance to state

Chelsea Wrestling Club members participated in the state regional meet last week in Holt.

In the Peewee Division (4- to 6-years-old) Nate Berman finished third in the 50-pound weight class for Chelsea.
In the Bantam Division (7- to 8-years-old) Quinton Clark finished third in the 55-pound weight bracket, while also competing in the 55-pound weight class and performing well for the local club was Mason Trinkle.
In the Midget Division (9- to 10-years-old) Chelsea's Mason Bailey placed second in the 103-pound bracket, while Ryan Eisley ended up fourth at 103. Kolten Savery finished third at 112 for the local club, while Zach Bennett and Will Stubbs wrestled well at 80 pounds and 60 pounds, respectively for Chelsea.
In the Schoolboy Division (13- to 14-years-old) Trevor Nold placed fourth in the 95-pound weight class.
With their performance at regionals, Bergman, Clark, Bailey, Eisley, Savery and Nold each qualified for the state meet in Battle Creek later this month.
