Harry Mansfield of Chelsea died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at his home. He was 88.
He was born Nov. 14, 1918 in Barking, Essex County, England, the son of William J. and Rosanna (Warrilow) Mansfield.
Mr. Mansfield became an American citizen on Sept. 3, 1930 in Detroit. He graduated from Pontiac High School in January 1936. He was employed at various Southeastern Michigan auto dealerships as parts or service managers from 1939-1977. He retired from Scan Data Corp. on June 1, 1979 and was the president of the Pontiac Optimist Club in 1952.
On June 10, 1939, he married Garnetta M. Olive in Pontiac, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2007. He is survived by his children, Anita (Kurt) Metzger, of Chelsea, Dawn (Kim) Kay of Howell, Alan (Pam) Mansfield of Chelsea, and Ronald Dean (Julie) Swanson of Oshkosh, Wisc.; his sisters, Barbara (William) Eldridge of Rochester Hills, Francis (Lloyd) Dawson of Kansas City, Kan.; his brothers, Arthur (Ruth) of Tellico, Tenn., Francis "Joe" (Mary) of Oscoda; his grandchildren, Angela (Paul) Pomerleau, Karl Metzger, Karen (William) Zimmer, Diane, Andrew and Robert Kay; and Jonathan, Erica, Jennifer, and Laura Swanson; seven great-grandchildren, Michelle, Paul and Brandon Pomerleau, Kassidy, Cole, Nathan, and Natalie Zimmer.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Sauro; grandson, John Sauro Jr.; his brothers, William, David, Henry "Dudley," Ralph; his sisters, Elizabeth, and Eleanor in infancy.
Funeral services were held May 2 at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Rev. Joy Barrett officiating. There will be a memorial service for both Harry and Garnetta on June 10, which would have been their 68th wedding anniversary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Meals on Wheels or In-house Hospice of Southfield.
Robert Wendell Stone died peacefully in his apartment at Chelsea Retirement Community Center in Chelsea on April 24, 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Henry) Stone; his parents, Herbert and Mina (Felker) Stone; his brothers, Charles, Donald, Vaughn and Kent and sisters, Marion, Lola and Dorothy, and one grandson, Darwin Wendell Stone.
He is survived by his brother Hubert and sisters; Margaret Stickler (A.D.), Helen Shinn, Doris Plummer, and his children Dallas Stone and Marlene Piasecki Beck and her husband Jim.
Mr. Stone is also survived by five grandchildren; Darrell Stone, Loren Stone , Christine (Stone) Wirick, Brian Piasecki (Jody), Nicole Piasecki and four great-grandchildren; Caitlin Wirick, Alyssa Wirick, Chandler Stone and Adriana Piasecki.
Mr. Stone was born at the Sanilac County Jail in Sandusky, Mich., on July 17, 1917, where his father was serving as Sanilac County Sheriff. The unique place of his birth was just one of many stories of his years in Sandusky that he enjoyed sharing with others.
After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he returned to Sandusky, where he became a master electrician and was self employed for many years. Throughout the years he was involved in the building and/or remodeling of many of his own homes and homes of others in Sandusky. His career also included periods of employment as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service and director of maintenance at McKenzie Memorial Hospital. He even owned and operated his own furniture store in the 1940's.
Mr. Stone took pride in his service to the Sandusky area, which included being elected president and remaining a life time member of American Legion Post 0369. He also served the community as a Sandusky city councilman, zoning board member, building inspector and emergency medical technician.
In keeping with Mr. Stone's expressed wishes cremation has taken place through the Cremation Society of Michigan.
A short memorial service for immediate family will take place at the Stone family reunion in Sandusky in July.

Dolores "Dee" Wiese loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007.
Born May 7, 1931 in Akron, Ohio to Helen and Lester C. Peterson she is survived by her husband of 54 years James A. Wiese, her sister Phyllis Stumpf (Edwin) of Ft. Wayne, Ind., sons Kurt (Barb) Wiese of Oakland Township and Pete (Sally) Wiese of Colleyville, Texas, daughter Erin Cole (Glenn) Ann Arbor and nine grandchildren: Bryan Wiese, Brittany Wiese, Chelsea Wiese, James W. Wiese, Thomas Wiese, Megan Wiese, Leigh Cole, Kristyne Cole and Grant Cole.
A long time Ann Arbor resident Dee was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, the Anna Botsford Bach Home, Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, and the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop. She enjoyed sharing the lake and traveling with friends and family.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor.
A memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor will be held Saturday May 5 starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Monteeith Hall followed immediately by a reception in the Curtis Room hosted by The Presbyterian Women.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop (3530 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, 48104 ) and Chelsea's Purple Rose Theater (137 Park St., Chelsea, MI 48118).
