Megan Hoelzer a junior at Western Michigan University was on the Dean's List for the 2006 winter semester. She is the daughter of Mike and Sheila Hoelzer of Dexter.

Nicholee Hastings of Chelsea has been awarded a $500 educational award in a national competition with other students who are members of Modern Woodmen of America. Modern Woodmen, a fraternal benefit society offering financial services, has local representatives and is based in Rock Island, Ill.
Hastings, the daughter of Holly Bulko and Greg Hastings of Chelsea, plans to use the grant to attend Michigan State University. Hastings is one of 100 grant winners chosen this year.
Janet Bassett will be graduating Summa Cum Laude on May 4th with her Doctorate of Education in Early Childhood Education from Oklahoma State University. She attended St. Joseph Elementary School from Kindergarten through 8th grade, and graduated from Dexter High School with the class of 1967. She received her undergraduate and masters degrees from Eastern Michigan University.
For over 25 years, Janet has made her home in Tulsa where she currently resides with her husband, Fred Bassett. Her two children, Scott and Todd and her grandchild, Michael live in the Dallas area.
Janet taught and then became a principal at Cooper Elementary in the Tulsa Public School system, where she has received numerous awards for being an outstanding educator. In her current position at the Monte Cassino Catholic Elementary School she served as the Principal for Early Childhood Development.
