Chelsea netters place second

Chelsea's boys' tennis team finished third at last Saturday's Saline Invitational.

The Bulldogs ended up with 10 points. Ann Arbor Greenhills was first with 19 points.
Josh Stiles placed first at No. 1 singles for Chelsea, losing only four games during the tournament.
In doubles, the No. 3 flight of Sean Dzobel and Dolan Personke and the No. 4 duo of Wes Fritzemeier and Nate Ripberger each finished second overall for the Bulldogs.
Last Thursday, visiting Chelsea defeated Temperance Bedford 6-2 in a dual match.
In singles, Stiles won 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 flight.
At No. 2 singles, Reece Hammer prevailed 6-2, 6-3.
Chris Tapping won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Bulldogs.
Steven Tapping lost 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 singles for Chelsea.
In doubles play, George Merkel and Chris LaDuke lost 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 at the No. 1 flight for the Bulldogs.
Dzobel and Personke won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Kin Tsang and Fritzemeier prevailed 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles for Chelsea.
Zach Gier and Nate Ripberger won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 doubled for the Bulldogs.
On April 18, host Chelsea beat Riverview 8-0.
Stiles won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Hammer prevailed 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
Chris Tapping won 6-0, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, while Gier won 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 4 flight.
In doubles, Merkel and LaDuke won 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 flight, while Personke and Dzobel won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Ripberger and Fritzemeier won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 doubles, while Corey Vandervoort and Steve Tapping won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 doubles.
On April 17, Chelsea's B team lost to visiting Pinckney 6-2.
Winning for the Bulldogs was Tsang at No. 1 singles 7-5, 7-6 and Mike Kozma 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
Chelsea next hosts Adrian Thursday at 4 p.m.
On Friday, the Bulldogs host Marshall at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, Chelsea hosts its own quad at 8:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, the Bulldogs travel to Saline for a match at 4 p.m.
