Rounding out the top five were Grand Ledge in second place with 58 points, followed by Lansing Waverly with 50 points, Grand Haven with 44 points and Battle Creek Lakeview with 31 points.
"We just ran super," said Chelsea coach Pat Clarke. "Grand Ledge is one of the top girls' teams in the Lansing area and Waverly is just sensational in the sprints. To run with them is truly an accomplishment at this point in the season."
Clarke said the entire Chelsea team gave a strong effort.
"Almost every girl on the team recorded a season's best time or distance," he said. "I really didn't know what to expect going into such a large and talented field with such a young team. The girls performed like veterans and came away with an amazing victory."
In field events, Kelly Anderson and Jillian Fischer combined for first place in the shot put, with a throw of 62-feet, 4 inches, and in the discus, with a toss of 191-9.
In the long jump, Christina Coffman and Kimmie Zimmerman placed sixth with a combined leap of 28-7.

Christina Coffman, DeTroyer, Zimmerman and Benjamin placed third in the 800-meter relay in 1:50.3 for the Bulldogs.
In the 6,400-meter relay, Jessica Farley, Courtney Maher, Nicole Bougher and McKenzie finished fourth in 24:11 for Chelsea.

In the 400-meter relay, Christina Coffman, Oberholtzer, DeTroyer and Williams stopped the clock in 55.3.
"We had an amazing day," Clarke said. "The girls deserve a great deal of credit for their improvement and hard work. We must, however, continue this improvement if we want to meet our season's goals."
