The Bulldogs finished second with 85 points.
Capturing the 17-team meet was Ypsilanti with 91 points. Rounding out the top five was Algonac with 61 points, Oxford with 53 points and Dearborn Divine Child with 49 points.
"We ran just super," said Chelsea coach Pat Clarke. "It was a good way to start the season. I really didn't know what to expect going into such a large and talented field with such a young team. The girls performed like veterans and came away with some valuable experience. We did not have our top two hurdlers due to spring break, but the rest of the team took up the slack to give us this great day."
Chelsea senior Jillian Fischer finished first in the shot put with a lifetime best 36-feet, eight and a half inches. The mark was 18 inches better than her previous top throw.
Sophomore Christina Coffman was third in the long jump with a mark of 15-6.
Katy Martin cleared 4-0 in the high jump for the Bulldogs.
Junior Erin Benjamin was fourth in the 60-meters with a time of 8.3.
Freshman Samantha Newbound finished first in the 3,200-meter in 12:31.
Nikki Oberholtzer stopped the clock in 11.7 in the 60-meter hurdles.
Sophomore Julie Beaumont was fifth in the 1,600-meter run in 6:02.7.
The Bulldog foursome of sophomore Olivia DeTroyer, freshman Corinne Carpenter, Martin and Benjamin finished fourth in the sprint medley relay in 4:44.3.
Jenna McGrath, DeTroyer, Carpenter and Benjamin ended up second in the 800-meter relay in 1:52.7.
DeTroyer, Carpenter, Coffman and Benjamin placed second in the 1,600-meter relay in 4:22.3.
Courtney Maher, Beaumont, Coffman and Martin ended up second in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 11:01.
Cassie Coffman, Christina Coffman, Beaumont and Maher placed second in the distance medley relay in 14:29.
Lauren Dark, Emily Cottrell, Emily Bougher and McGrath finished fourth in the shuttle hurdle relay in 39.5.
"We just had an amazing day and the girls deserve a great deal of credit for their improvement," Clarke said. "I am just so proud of these young ladies and the way they performed in this very large meet. We gave a great Ypsilanti team a very good run in this meet. We must, however, continue this improvement if we want to meet our season's goals."
Chelsea next hosts county rival Dexter April 11 at 4:30 p.m.
