Chelsea wrestling club grapples in Jackson

The Chelsea Wrestling Club participated in a tournament at Jackson Northwest last Saturday.

Besides the local club, other teams competing in the meet included Dexter, Union City, Jackson Lumen Christi, Stockbridge, Manchester, Napoleon, Holt, Sturgis and Northwest.

In the Peewee Division (4- to 6-years-old), Nate Bergman (50 pounds) finished second for Chelsea. Also competing well for Chelsea was Shane Nold (33 pounds).

In the Bantam Division (7- to 8-years-old), Mikal Nelson (60 pounds) placed second. Mason Trinkle (55 pounds) was fourth. Joshua Dosey (60 pounds) also participated for Chelsea.

In the Midget Division (9- to 10-years-old), Zach Bennett (80 pounds), Mason Bailey (103 pounds) and Jacob Gaken (120 pounds) each finished second for Chelsea. Placing third were Tristan Koch (65 pounds), Ryan Eisely (103 pounds) and Matthew Kimball (75 pounds). Dominic Triveline (75 pounds) and Kolten Savery (112 pounds) also competed in the division for the local club.

In the Novice Division (11- to 12-years-old), Ty Nelson (95 pounds) finished third, while Daniel Wisnewski (105 pounds) was fourth. Scott Moore (85 pounds) also performed well for Chelsea.

In the Schoolboy Division (13- through 14-years-old), Andrew Nold (105 pounds) finished first. Trevor Nold (95 pounds) was second for Chelsea.

The wrestling club is sponsored by the Chelsea Recreation Department.
