Chelsea competes in meet

The Chelsea Wrestling Club traveled to Brooklyn Columbia Central for their season-opening meet last Saturday.

The tournament featured teams from Dexter, Union City, Jackson Northwest, Jackson Lumen Christi, Stockbridge, Manchester and Napoleon.
Leading Chelsea on the day were first-place finishers Mason Bailey, Mikal Nelson and Quinton Clark.
Placing second for the local club were Trevor Noles, Dan Wisniewski, Jacob Gaken, Ryan Eisley and Nate Bergman.
Other top performers for Chelsea included Zach Bennett, Joshua Dosey, Matthew Kimball, Tristan Koch, Scott Moore, Ty Nelson, Jacob Pennington, Ryan Pennington, Shaierra Salyer-Back and Kolton Savery.
Also wrestling well for Chelsea were Will Stubbs, Russell Timmerman, Mason Trinkle, Dominic Triveline and Matthew Van Buren.
The Chelsea Wrestling Club is sponsored by the Chelsea Recreation Department.
The club is coached by John Eisley and Bruce Bennett.
The club currently has 25 members in kindergarten through eighth-grade.
Chelsea next travels to Jackson Northwest for a meet Saturday.
