Gifts to Rotary will benefit the local community via Strive Scholarships to Chelsea High School students who have worked to improve their grade point average in their senior year, and to groups supported by Rotary including Faith In Action, the Hope Clinic and the St. Louis Center.
Prize winners were determined by drawing numbered balls out of a hopper.
The prize package for the first number drawn was a magnum of champagne from Chelsea Market, a one-night stay at the Chelsea House Victorian Inn, dinner at Cleary's Pub and two tickets to the Purple Rose Theater.
The final four numbers of the night would determine the winner of the grand prize of $3,000 in cash, but the last four people eligible Lynda Collins, Shontay Doyle, D'Ann Gietzen and John Hansen - elected to stand together and split the winnings.
According to Rotary President Gigi Batsakis, other cash prizes of $40 and $50 were interspersed with merchandise donated by Chelsea-area companies.
"There were some very unusual gifts," Batsakis said. "Everyone who attended walked out with a gift bag filled with goodies from local merchants."
