"They had their highest number of bump, set and spikes in this match," said Chelsea coach Linda Turok. "It was great to see them setting the ball up."

Megan Brockett led the Bulldogs with 10 service points and two aces.

Tessa Elwart, Danielle Dahl and McKenna Jerant each had four service points, while Morgan Gavorek had one service point for Beach. Elwart also added nine assists, while Lisa Keene, Jessica Craig, Haleigh Zimmerman and Brockett each had one assist.

On March 6, Chelsea defeated rival Dexter Gold 27-25, 25-16, 25-21.

Jerant paced the Bulldogs with eight service points and two aces.

Gavorek, Keene and Elwart each had four service points. Elwart also had one ace.

Nicole Schmelz, Katie Wollpert and Dahl each had three service points. Dahl also had one ace. Briana Carden, Jill Schmidt and Anna Friss each had two service points.

Brockett finished with three assists, while Elwart had two assists for Beach. Laura Lyons and Keene each had one assist.

"The girls all served well and played their best volleyball match of the season," Turok said.

Chelsea's Beach Middle School seventh-grade Gold volleyball team lost to visiting Tecumseh 25-15, 25-16, 25-14 last Thursday.

"In the first game, we got behind 11-2, but battled back to cut the score to 12-8 then it slipped away," said Chelsea coach Rahn Rosentreter. "In the second game, same as the first, we got behind early but cut the lead to within three then Tecumseh went on a seven-point run to end it."

Ashley Ball and Maria Maldonado led the Bulldogs each with five service points.

Chelsea next hosts Saline Gold Thursday at 4 p.m.
