A first-team All-Southeastern Conference White Division selection, Darwin, a 6-foot center, finished the year averaging a team-high 10.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Her 353 career rebounds rank 10th all-time in Bulldog girls' basketball history.
Also a first-team All-Southeastern Conference White Division pick, Hollandsworth, a 5-7 guard, ended the season averaging 8.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Her 25 three-pointers this year tied for third all-time in a season for Chelsea. For her career, Hollandsworth is third all-time in three-pointers made with 41. At the free throw line, her 68.1 percent mark is third all-time in Bulldog history.
Earning the Most Improved Player Award for Chelsea were seniors Lizzy Bentley and Nellie Daniels.
Receiving the Coaches Award for the Bulldogs was senior Anna Foley.
Selected for the Red Nose Award was junior Zoe Suffety.
"The Red Nose Award is for the player that keeps the team loose and laughing," said Chelsea coach Todd Blomquist.
Blomquist said the team votes for the end-of-season awards.
Named captains for next season were juniors Erin Benjamin and Krystin Schwarze. Schwarze's five three-pointers against Milan earlier this season tied a school record for most triples in a game.
Earning All-SEC honorable mention this past year for the Bulldogs was senior Emily Rabbitt and Schwarze.
Rabbitt averaged 9.1 points and 3.7 rebounds this season, while Schwarze averaged 4.8 points and shot a team-best 71.4 percent from the foul line.
Receiving the SEC Sportsmanship Award was Daniels.
In 24 games this season, Chelsea scored 1,041 points for an average of 43 points per contest. Defensively, the Bulldogs allowed 962 points this year for an average of 40 points per outing.
This year's squad finished third all-time in three-pointers made with 62 and fourth all-time in free throws made with 257. The team also was third in Chelsea history with 447 free throw attempts.
The Bulldogs ended up 13-11 overall winning SEC White Division and Class B district titles. Chelsea lost in the regional semifinals 52-44.
"This team really stayed focused and worked very hard in practice to continually improve," Blomquist said. "There was not one moment or game that turned our season around, but a tremendous amount of work in practice and great senior leadership. We also never stopped believing what our goals were and that we would achieve them."
