Beach laps Ypsi Lincoln

Chelsea's Beach Middle School swimming and diving team defeated host Ypsilanti Lincoln 125-45 Jan. 10.

The Bulldog foursome of Jacyln Murphy, Kelly O'Keefe, Hannah Olsen and Andrew Wickens placed first in the 200 medley relay. Claudia Bravo, Ross Argir, Laura Lodewyk and Chris McQuarrie touched second for Beach. Finishing fourth in the 200 medley relay was the Chelsea team of Alexis Roberts, Katie Frankhart, Anna Helvey and Mackenzie Cole.
In the 200 freestyle, Joe Haroney ended up first for Beach, followed by teammates Jacob Bogarin in second and Bourke Lodewyk in sixth place.
Bravo finished second in the 100 individual medley, while Laura Lodewyk was third and Philip Arbogast-Wilson fourth for Chelsea.
Wickens bested the field in the 50 freestyle placing first for Beach. Argir was second in the event, while McQuarrie was fourth.
Capturing the diving event was Bulldog Lauren Dark. Colby Wrathall ended up third for Chelsea.
In the 50 butterfly, Olsen finished first, while Laura Lodewyk was second and Helvey fourth.
In the 100 freestyle, Wickens placed first, while Arbogast-Wilson was second and Cole third for Beach.
The Bulldog quartet of Bourke Lodewyk, Kaitlin Jolly, Shelby Collins and Clara Erickson finished first in the 200 freestyle relay. Ashley Chrisman, Paige Erickson, Laura Heaney and Megan Hall placed second for Chelsea.
Murphy finished first in the 100 backstroke, while Bravo was second and Roberts third.
In the 100 breaststroke, O'Keefe ended up first, while Frankhart was second and Olsen third for the Bulldogs.
In the 400 freestyle relay, Haroney, Bogarin, Helvey and Murphy finished first for Beach. Paige Erickson, Clara Erickson, Heaney and Collins touched third for Chelsea.
Beach next travels to Erie-Mason to participate in its invitational Saturday at 9 a.m.
On Wednesday, Chelsea visits Saline for a meet at 4 p.m.
