Beach tankers lap Lincoln

Chelsea's Beach Middle School swimming and diving team defeated host Ypsilanti Lincoln 136-31 Jan. 9.

In the 200 medley relay, the Bulldog group of Matt Caister, Hanna Newbound, Logan Simpson and Nick Deppner finished first. Placing second was the combo of Robby Everard, Graham Rutherford, Emily Phillips and Jillian Dixon. Ending up third was the quartet of Bourke Lodewyk, Megan Hall, Katie Olsen and Amanda Johnson.
In the 200 freestyle, Nick Burris was first, while Kirk Olsen was third and Katie Eisley fourth for Chelsea.
Caister touched first in the 100 individual medley, while Olsen was third and Hall fourth for the Bulldogs.
In the 50 freestyle, Simpson finished first, while Dixon was second and Anna Helvey third.
Sarah Carrara placed first in the diving competition, while Jessi Battaglia was second and Mare Almhiemed was third.
Simpson finished first in the 50 butterfly, while Phillips was second and Helvey third for Beach.
Caister placed first in the 100 freestyle, while Burris was second and Olsen third for the Bulldogs.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Blayde Ray, Dixon, Newbound and Deppner finished first for Chelsea. Sheri Robbins, Hannah Mahalak, Phillips and Johnson placed second, while Laura Heaney, Blake Ortbring, Natalie Dixon and Battaglia ended up third.
In the 100 backstroke, Everard was first, while Lodewyk was second and Danielle Hilts third for Chelsea.
Newbound finished first in the 100 breaststroke, while Rutherford was second and hall third.
In the 400 freestyle relay, Simpson, Burris, Eisley and Caister placed first for Beach. Katie Olsen, Kirk Olsen, Natalie Dixon and Ray ended up second, while Ortbring, Johnson, Mahalak and Robbins finished third.
Chelsea next travels to Erie Mason for a meet Saturday at 10 a.m.
