The program, for girls in eighth- through 12th-grade, is an excellent opportunity for interested players to get a feel for the game of field hockey. No experience is necessary to participate in the sessions.
Besides this Saturday, the sessions will be held Jan. 19, Feb. 23, March 1 and March 9.
The sessions will be conducted from 10 a.m. through noon.
The program will emphasize learning the basics of the game, improving stick work and learning to play on a fast surface.
The program will be run by coaches and varsity players on the Washtenaw Whippets field hockey team.
Players participating in the program are asked to bring a mouth guard and gym shoes. Sticks, balls and shin guards will be provided.
