Final weekly CANOPAS peace demonstration, Chelsea post officesidewalk, Sunday, Jan. 4 noon - 1 p.m. Immediately following a potluck and program at the Michigan Friends Center to celebrate the uninterrupted six years of Sunday demonstrations and to turn attention to future plans. Jan. 5Legos at McKune; 3:30-4:30 p.m.; McKune; Drop-in. Build to your heart's content with a wide variety of Legos. Creations will go on display in the library. For ages 6 and up.

Jan. 5Teen Book Club; 4-5 p.m.; KidSpot; Registration. Sign up for this book discussion group of popular teen novels. January: Paper Towns by John Green.

Jan. 6Senior Computing 1 to 1; 10 a.m. to noon; Registration. Library staff and volunteers are on hand to help with learning about computers, Microsoft Office, the Internet, or other technology issues. Also held on Jan. 20.

Jan. 6Babytime; 10:30-11:15 a.m.; KidSpot; Drop-in. Babytime is the place to introduce your baby to the world of books and reading. Bring a friend! For ages 0-24 months and their parents/caregivers. Held every Tuesday: Jan. 13, 20, 27.

Jan. 6Study Hall; 3:30-5:30pm; McKune; Registration. Sign up to get free tutoring and homework help afterschool every Tuesday and Thursday. For grades 5 and up.

Chelsea Senior Citizens Activities Center

Dexter

Dexter District Library

The Dexter District Library is located at 8040 Fourth Street. All Library programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call 734-426-4477.

Friday, Jan. 2: Registration for Winter Story Times begins. Caregivers may register in person or by calling 426-4477. Winter Story Times will start the week of Jan. 12

Saturday, Jan. 3: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Friends of the Dexter District Library Used Book Sale.

Dexter Senior Center

The center is located at 7720 Ann Arbor Street in Dexter. Luncheons are complete for a $2.50 minimum donation. Make reservations a day ahead by noon at 426-5397.

Jan. 10: MAKE YOUR OWN SNOWSHOES 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Join us for a snowshoe workshop. We will start with pre-made frame, Huron Snowshoe style, and complete the construction while we learn more of the history and modern day application of snowshoeing. Pre-registration required; workshop and snowshoes fee, $160.
